Welcome and Call to Worship

Psalm 96:1–3 (NIV) · Rev. Tae Chin

Leader

Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.

All

We will declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

All Creatures of Our God and King

All creatures of our God and King,
lift up your voice and with us sing:
“Alleluia! Alleluia!”
O burning sun with golden beam
and shining moon with silver gleam,
O praise him! O praise him! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

All you who are of tender heart,
forgiving others, take your part.
Sing his praises, Alleluia!
All you who pain and sorrow bear,
praise God and on him cast your care.
O praise him! O praise him! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Let all things their Creator bless
and worship him in humbleness.
O praise him, Alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
and praise the Spirit, Three in One:
O praise Him! O praise Him! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

I Will Sing

With my mouth I will tell of your faithfulness.
I’ll declare Lord, your covenant with my life.
With my mouth I will tell of your faithfulness.
I’ll declare Lord, your covenant with my life.

Chorus

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever,
I will sing of the Lord’s great love.
I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever,
I will sing, oh I will sing.

Lord, you are the glory of all our strength,
your presence along the way for all our days.

Chorus

Bridge

Oh, Lord God Almighty, who is like you?
Oh, Lord God Almighty, none beside you.
Oh Lord God Almighty,
all the earth and sky belong to you.

Chorus

Tag

Of his great love, I will sing.

Prayer of Adoration

(Concluded by the Lord’s Prayer)

All

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer of Confession

Leader

Almighty God, gracious Father, we confess that we have not lived our lives fully for your glory. We waste the gifts you have given us, wander from your ways, and forget your love. We overlook our neighbors and become too focused on ourselves.

All

Forgive us, most merciful Father. Help us grow in your love and deepen our longing for Jesus, that we may rejoice in his presence and welcome the light of his truth. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Silent Confession

Words of Encouragement

1 John 1:9 (ESV)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Great Are You Lord

You give life, you are love, you bring light to the darkness.
You give hope, you restore every heart that is broken.
And great are you, Lord.

Chorus

It’s your breath in our lungs,
so we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise.
It’s your breath in our lungs,
so we pour out our praise to you only.

You give life, you are love, you bring light to the darkness.
You give hope, you restore every heart that is broken.
And great are you, Lord.

Chorus Twice

And all the earth will shout your praise,
our hearts will cry, these bones will sing:
“Great are you, Lord!”

Repeat (slides: 3 times)

The Passing of the Peace

Leader

The Peace of the Lord be always with you.

All

And also with you.

Lord I Need You

Lord I come, I confess. Bowing here, I find my rest.
And without you I fall apart, you’re the one that guides my heart

Chorus

Lord, I need you, oh, I need you; every hour I need you;
my one defense, my righteousness, oh God, how I need you.
Where sin runs deep, your grace is more; where grace is found is where you are.
And where you are, Lord I am free. Holiness is Christ in me.
Where you are, Lord I am free. Holiness is Christ in me.

Chorus

So teach my song to rise to you when temptation comes my way.
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on you, Jesus, you’re my hope and stay.
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on you, Jesus, you’re my hope and stay.

Chorus Twice

My one defense, my righteousness, oh God, how I need you.

The Word

Sermon Scripture Reading

Colossians 4:2–6 (ESV) · Reader: Tom Brinks

2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Reader

This is the Word of the Lord.

All

Thanks be to God.

Nothing to Fear

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you,
and the depths of the rivers shall not overwhelm.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.
I am the Lord; I am the Lord.

Chorus

And there is nothing to fear, nothing to fear.
There is nothing to fear, nothing to fear,
for I am with you always.

In the depths of your sorrow, I wept beside you.
When you walked through the shadow, I drew you near.
Yesterday, today, tomorrow, always the same.
I am the Lord; I am the Lord.

Chorus Twice

What can separate you from my perfect love?

Repeat (slide 3x)

Do not fear, do not fear, do not fear.

Partaking Together

Leader: Let us proclaim the mystery of the faith:

All: Christ has died! Christ is risen! Christ will come again!

Leader: Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us,

All: Therefore, let us keep the feast.

Leader: These are the gifts of God for the people of God. Feed on them in your hearts, by faith and with thanksgiving.

Worship through Giving

2 Corinthians 9:6–7 (NIV)

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Giving back to God a portion of what he has graciously provided for us is a form of worship. To make an offering to Intown, please refer to the back of this Worship Guide for information on ways to give.

Build Your Kingdom Here

Come set your rule and reign
in our hearts again.
Increase in us we pray,
unveil why we’re made.
Come set our hearts ablaze with hope
like wildfire in our very souls.
Holy Spirit, come, invade us now.
We are your church,
we need your power in us.
We seek your kingdom first.
We hunger and we thirst.
Refuse to waste our lives,
For you’re our joy and prize.
To see the captive hearts released,
the hurt, the sick, the poor at peace.
We lay down our lives for heaven’s cause.
We are your church,
we pray, “revive this earth.”

Chorus

Build your kingdom here,
let the darkness fear.
Show your mighty hand,
heal our streets and land.
Set your church on fire,
win creation back.
Change the atmosphere,
build your kingdom here, we pray.

Unleash your kingdom’s power,
reaching the near and far.
No force of hell can stop
your beauty changing hearts.
You made us for much more than this,
awake the kingdom seed in us.
Fill us with the strength and love of Christ.
We are your church,
we are the hope on earth.

Chorus Twice

Benediction

2 Thessalonians 3:16 (NIV)

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
