As we live out our mission of being “Sent to restore”, we seek to engage with people, locally and globally, so that they may discover the love of Jesus. In 2024, our Global Partners Team has vetted four short-term opportunities for you to travel abroad to learn about and serve alongside Intown’s Global Partners in El Salvador, Thailand, Zambia, and Japan. We encourage you to pray about these opportunities, asking God if and where he would have you go.
El Salvador — June 29-July 6, 2024
Intown’s short-term global trip to El Salvador will be focused on helping the team there follow up on contacts that they are making in the first stage of church planting. Working alongside Intown Global Partners Rodney and Jana Davila, Abigail Conroy, and Clay and Hannah Jones, you will be involved with activities such as practicing English with students, sharing your testimony through conversion, and participating in an ongoing mercy ministry in downtown San Salvador. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the culture, taste the food and get a better appreciation for the challenges they face and how to pray with and for them.

Thailand — September 12-21, 2024
Intown’s short-term service team will be joining up with a team from Brookhaven Presbyterian (PCA) for a vision/prayer journey to see the work that MTW is doing in Bangkok, Thailand. Intown has over a 20-year relationship with the team in Bangkok, including Global Partners Tim and Rhianna Mills and Chris Claburn.
This journey will include visiting and encouraging the team members and going to some of the churches that have been planted. As we walk around the neighborhoods where the team members live and minister, we will learn about the culture and specific needs for the gospel. We will also learn about and practice intercessory prayer with Ken Matlack, Director of External Ministries at Brookhaven, and his wife Tammie, Prayer Catalyst at Brookhaven.

Zambia — July 5-20, 2024
Intown members Lanny and Kristen Nixon have been involved in leading teams to serve with Rafiki Foundation for a number of years with the support of Intown’s Global Partners Team. The short-term teams work at a school in Zambia serving orphans and children who are in need. If you would like to know more about details of the trip, please contact the Nixons for a discussion.

Japan — July 17-31, 2024
Intown Global Partners Mayumi and Chris Pohl and Matthew Barany work with a ministry called Second Level. They will be leading a trip this summer to minister to the 2nd largest unreached people group in the world - the Japanese. The work will be centered in Tokyo and focused on continuing the work of sowing seeds and connecting people who returned to Japan to gospel-centered churches. There will also be opportunities to connect with Japanese churches and university ministries through ESL and school chapel times.
